The Margaret T. Hance Park revitalization project is gaining attention with new corporate support helping advance the project’s next phase. Arizona Public Service (APS) announced a $250,000 contribution toward the planned Central Avenue “Gateway Staircases,” a key improvement designed to create safer, more visible, and more welcoming entrances into the park.
This investment builds on the City of Phoenix’s commitment of $3 million in bond funding and underscores the project’s public-private partnership model, as business leaders continue to seek additional donors. Outlets including Phoenix Business Journal, ABC15, Hoodline, KTAR, and Axios Phoenix emphasize that this effort is part of a broader, multi-year vision to transform Hance Park into a signature downtown destination, with future construction and amenities tied to continued fundraising success. Driving this effort is the Hance Park Partner Coalition which is a partnership between the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Department, Phoenix Community Alliance & Hance Park Conservancy, a nonprofit organization founded in 2010 to advocate for the park’s redevelopment. Its board includes community, city, and business leaders dedicated to activating the space and supporting a vibrant arts and cultural experience in downtown Phoenix.
